Magazine Advert So Far...

So far we have included everything mentioned below...

The Use of Black,Grey and White.

I have decided to use these colours simply because they stand out. White is often associated with Purity,Innocence,Faith and perfection. The colour white reflects the relationship between the girl and the boy which is meant to be pure as they have true love towards each other.

Black however is the complete opposite of White. It is known to represent hatred, fear and negativity. There isn't exactly negativity or hatred between their relationship but the black colour could represent the distance between these two as though being together they are far apart. Grey is similar to the colour black. It represents uncommitted feeling , depression and emotions. Though it seems that the guy is committed to the girl but this is not the case. He is unaware that he is being negligent towards her.

The use of red colour.

The red colour is two sided. It can represent danger, anger, fire but on the positive side it can represent strong emotions like love, excitement, romance, passion and energy. In this case, it is the representation of their love. The red colour is only used once and that is in a quote from the lyrics... That line summarises the content of the music video. 


The title.
Stargazer is the title of the music video, the digipak and the magazine advert. It is originally means a day dreamer. This guy in the music video dreams big. He loves his girlfriend but also wants to have a great career. But is it possible to have everything you want?


The sub-title.

It's not exactly a sub-title but as its under the actual title thus i called it that. It says "Official Album Release". This is to inform the audience about the release of the music. 


The Blackberry Barcode:
Blackberry is used by millions around the world. I have included the barcode as to many scanning barcode is fascinating and by scanning that barcode they will get access to information on the upcoming music video instead of actually going to the website.  It will be easier to access this. 


The Star Rating.
It is important to have a star review on any piece of release as it informs the audience before hand whether it is a good or bad music video. This is usually the one thing people notice before buying the music as they need to know if they are paying for something worthy or not.


Itunes: 
Itunes is a popular source of music and is used worldwide for downloading music, This is advantageous for iphone or ipod users as it's available for them to buy anytime. This also increases sale of music and avoids illegal downloads. 


HMV:
HMV is where you people can buy CD's and Albums of artist thus i thought it will be a good idea to have this on the magazine cover as it helps informing the audience as to how they will be able to access this music.


The Website: 
I have included a website so that my audience have access to through different sources to the music video. Many don't own a blackberry and iphone therefore the only source could be the internet and they can log on to it so that they can see the music video. I have included offers on the magazine cover and the audience can access it on the website itself.


The Release date:
Any music magazine advert has to announce the release date as this informs the audience of when the music will be available to them. Its an excitement for the audience to wait for their product to be delivered on a specific date.




Since we've been asked for some extra shots, my partner has gone filming.  I am only missing the image which i need to edit an put on the cover.

Final Editing.

Today is the day!


My partner is busy doing the final editing of our music video, It has all been put together but to move on we need the teacher's advice as to how to make it better before uploading.


I am extremely proud of my partner and our team work as we are amateur at using such advanced technologies but we got most work done in this whole week.

Process of Creating Magazine Advert

As you are aware, we need to create a magazine advert as part of our coursework task. I have started with it but very confused to what imagine will be appropriate.


I am using the Adobe Photoshop on Imac to be able to create this magazine advert.

I am finding photoshop a little hard to use as this is the first time i have ever used it. However to make sure i am able to complete this magazine advert i am watching tutorials on youtube that could help me step by step.


I have managed to finish all the writing part on the magazine advert however i am still waiting on the image so that i can just finish it off.

Final Scene!

Yes Yes Yes! We are finally done with all our filming. We stuck in the music studio today as we got quite a few good shots in one place. It was definitely better than yesterday as they got serious about it.We are now in process of editing and making the magazine advert and digipak. Yes a lot to do but we are trying our best!

Music Studio Scene

Today we've filmed the music studio scene where it is shown that the male is too busy for his work that he neglects his girlfriend...

The filming was good however since there was secondary audience involved thus time was wasted while explaining them what to do. It was very important for them to take this seriously.

At the Eastbrook Chase- Filming

Since we're at sixth form, we've decided to do some more filming. According to the plan it's a park that is our  main location for today so that is where we are heading to!

I am absolutely stressed, yes. But this time i won't let anything get in the way of my coursework!

The friend that has kindly offered to act in our music video is Mergim who studies at the same consortium as me thus it's quicker to get in contact with him. The storyline is the same but just scenes have been changed. I am playing the lead girl thus today is an important day for me again because it will be hard to show chemistry on the camera if you've never really been friends with someone for long. Though Mergim assured me it will be fine, the scare is still here!


After Filming: 
Results Results!


We've finally done it! It was one great experience to film out in the snow even though we were absolutely freezing!Me and Mergim (The main actor) did some 'romantic shots' at the park which was actually pretty good! It took time to get used to it but our chemistry on screen worked!We also managed to get some shots of him singing alone. We shot some scenery for the music which will add a little more spice to it!


So pleased with the results! 

Permission to use Hall and Music Studio.

In order for me to get access to the hall and music studio, it is essential for me to have the teacher's or head of department's permission to be able to use those.

Mr Hilliard is our Head of Music Departments and I am going to email him asking him for permission.

Ms Bishop is the head of Drama and Most drama exams and school performances are done in the hall therefore i will have to write to her too.

Since i've had a few problems with my school email, i've decided to go talk to Head of Music and Head of Drama personally.

I have now received permission to use the hall and the music studio however since there is a show taking place, the hall is only available today and thursdays but since it will be too late i've tried talking to my colleague to come and start filming.

Another issue that popped up is that the guy that is meant to be acting has left no contact information whatsover therefore it's a major problem trying to get through him.

NEW Plan.!!

Since you've read my previous two post, you are aware that we've had to change the male actor last minute.To be able reduce confusion, I have created a plan myself which i will show my partner when i am able to see her and make sure that she agrees with the plan.

Since the park is filled with snow and two of our scene is based there therefore i will wait till tuesday night to do the 2nd park scene as it's only a night scene of stargazing and couple sharing time together.
My 1st scene will be for Wednesday as im sure tha park will have cleared up by then.Since two of my scenes are indoors therefore i'll film them today!

Solution!

Thank god!

So we've found two guys, one from my main sixthform and another in a consortium sixthform thanks to my friends. Just to assure myself that this time nothing will go wrong, I am going to film the first guy today and see how it goes and film the other one tomorrow. If i like the work of the first one i'll keep him into the music video or else i have to keep the second one. I do not want more complications with this music video hence why i decided this.


It is going to be pretty hard for me as I am playing the main girl, I have to carry equipments such a the tripod and a huge guitar which is bigger than me in this pretty but dangerous snow.  But to complete this task i will take any risk so i can complete it by Friday.


I am going to ask permission from the drama studio if i am able to use the stage for some filming.


Just so that i don't get confused, I am going to use the same setting, the same storyline i inteded with the previous guy so we can film without fuss as we know exactly what we're doing now so it shouldn't take long.

More Problems!!

A s you know, we've been in process of editing our music video for which we was very excited about.  However we've been chasing our main actor for weeks now to give us a last shot for one scene which could complete our music video. We could have had a finished video weeks ago! Now I've been told that he does not want to do which has stressed me out a lot! As now i don't have to only remove all his parts but also try find someone new that could take his place and film it all in 2-3 days! Fortunately we've started with our music magazine advert and  digipak so there is much left to do. And Me and my partner both have a day off for which we are determine to stay in from morning till late after school to finish all editing! I am hoping i could find someone by the end of today. I have emailed many friends and asked around and try getting them to spread the message but no one is willing to do it as they claim to be camera shy. Yes this is a very stressful moment but my partner is good at editing therefore while she gets on with that, I'll be finishing the other two tasks.

Digipak Moodboard.

Just so that i know what i am going to include and what my digipak may look like. I've also created a temporary one using google images and put them together so from my music video i know what to cut to use as image on my digipak! :)

Digipack Ideas and Storyboard

While our music video is in the process of being edited, me and my partner have outlined how our digipak is going to look like when we have started it!

Front cover:

This will consist of a plain picture with stars and the moon. As our music itself it's about 'stargazing' so that implies it in our cover. Our whole digipak will be in black and white though our music video is in colour because since the stars are associated with the colour white and of course the sky is pitch black at night therefore we've chosen to make our digipak in black and white as it's also presenting our music video.

Second cover:

A picture of couple stargazing on top of a car, while the male holds the guitar (his passion)

Third Cover:

This will include our actual CD which will have stars on them just like Katy Perry's CD from her digipak which looks like candy as it also promotes her song 'California Girls' in which it appears as she's shot the video in a 'candy world'.
